European Movement Belgium: Celebrate the start of summer in style!
Join the European Movement-Belgium on Tuesday 12/07 at 6PM for its cultural evening fully dedicated to Slovakia, the country holding the EU presidency for the coming six months. Join us for a unique cultural experience, a chat and a drink or two (that Slovak wine is really nice!).
NICKY’S FAMILY
At 19:00 we will be screening ‘Nicky’s family’, a 2011 docudrama directed by Slovak film director Matej Mináč. The story is based on the work of Sir Nicholas Winton, a British humanitarian who organized the rescue of 669 children, most of them Jewish, from Czechoslovakia on the eve of the Second World War in an operation later known as the Czech Kindertransport (German for “children transportation”).
PARTNERSHIPS
The evening is organised by European Movement-Belgium in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Brussels and ‘Vybor pre rekreacnu Slovencinu’, an association organizing informal meetings for Slovaks and people curious about Slovak culture in Brussels. The event is realised with the support of Brussels-Capital Region.
4041 SPACE
This event is kindly hosted by 4041 Space, a versatile event space located at Ravenstein Gallery (on the ground floor of the round atrium) in the centre of Brussels. For more information visit their website 4041.be.
