European Movement | Federal Assembly 2019
The European Movement International Federal Assembly took place on Friday, 8 November 2019 in Helsinki co-hosted by the European Movement International and the European Movement Finland.
Once a year, member organisations of the European Movement International network gather for our Federal Assembly to discuss the state of the organisations, debate the big issues that face Europe, as well as set a course for the organisation to follow in the year ahead.
Ambitious goals and plans were discussed and agreed upon in the meetings of the Political Committees, specifically relating to (1) Democracy, Citizen Participation and Fundamental Values; (2) a Social, Sustainable, Competitive and Prosperous Europe; and (3) Europe and the World.
The Assembly was chaired by Eva Maydell MEP, President of the European Movement International, and we had the honour of having Alexander Stubb, former Prime Minister of Finland, holding a keynote speech on the Future of Europe.
We are excited and privileged to have such a diverse and vast membership stretching all over the European continent.
