Monday 27 April
Competitiveness Council
Tourism ministers will hold a video conference to exchange information and best practice on relief measures taken so far at the national level. They will explore possible future action at national and EU level for the quick recovery of the tourism sector.
Tuesday 28 April
Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council
EU ministers of energy will hold an informal video conference on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the energy sector. They will also cover the issues of preparedness and recovery. In addition, the European Commission will update ministers on the state of play regarding national energy and climate plans (NECPs) and long-term renovation strategies.
Justice and Home Affairs Council
EU ministers responsible for home affairs will hold a videoconference to discuss the state of play and way forward on the response to COVID-19 in the area of home affairs. They will cover four main areas: internal and external borders, use of tracing applications, asylum, return and resettlement, shift in criminal activities. The Commission, the European External Action Service, the Presidency and the most affected member states will provide an update on the current situation of migration, in particular as regards the borders with Turkey and the Western and Central Mediterranean and the ongoing transfer of unaccompanied minors from Greece.
Wednesday 29 April
Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council
Transport ministers will assess the measures taken so far to counter the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic for the transport sector. They will also discuss how to coordinate the relaxation of measures currently in place in the sector in the context of the EU’s exit strategy. Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Lichtenstein will join the videoconference.
