On the agenda: Exchange of views with Commissioner Johannes Hahn, responsible for Budget and Administration, on the new MFF proposal and the recovery plan after the outbreak of COVID-19 with special focus on the future CAP and agricultural matters, Vote on Commission Delegated Regulation on temporary exceptional measures derogating from certain provisions of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council to address the market disturbance in the fruit and vegetables and wine sectors caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and measures linked to it.

On the agenda: Vote on Situation in the Schengen area following the Covid-19 outbreak, Debate on the Framework of ethical aspects of artificial intelligence, robotics and related technologies, and on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the drugs situation in Europe. There will also be Exchange of views regarding Report on the implementation of National Roma Integration Strategies: Combating negative attitudes towards people with Romani background in Europe.

Tuesday 2 June

Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Council
EU sport ministers will hold their second video conference to discuss how to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the sport sector. Ministers will exchange views on how to adjust in order to gradually resume sport activities in safe and secure conditions. Ministers will also exchange views on the existing support available at EU and national level to foster the sector’s recovery.

Thursday 4 June

Justice and Home Affairs Council (Ministers of justice)
Ministers will discuss the draft regulation on assignments of claims. They will also express their views on the extradition of EU citizens to third countries. The European Commission and EU agencies will provide information on the impact of COVID-19 in the field of justice. The Commission will also inform ministers of the state of play in the setting up of the European Public Prosecutors Office (EPPO) and the ongoing international negotiations regarding e-evidence. Finally, the incoming German presidency will also present its work programme.

Friday 5 June

Justice and Home Affairs Council (Home Affairs ministers)
Member states will discuss how restrictions on free movement and internal border controls can be lifted in a coordinated, non-discriminatory and proportionate way and will be invited to share their expected timelines for the lifting of internal border controls. Member states will also discuss how long the EU travel restrictions with regard to the entry of third country nationals should be maintained and what criteria and measures could be applied once the restrictions start to be lifted.

Webinar on priorities in post-COVID recovery
EESC will host a webinar titled ‘Shifting priorities in post-COVID recovery – towards an economy of wellbeing for people and planet’. The event will serve to bring the concept of wellbeing economy to the debate in the EU. By presenting several perspectives, it will contribute to the debate on the post-COVID recovery and reconstruction at the level of the EESC.
