Tuesday 30 June

Republic of Korea-EU leaders’ video conference meeting
President Charles Michel, President Ursula von de Leyen and President David Sassoli will take part in the conference with the President of the Republic of Korea, Jae-in Moon. They will discuss the COVID-19 outbreak and how to foster global cooperation in the post-Covid recovery phase.

Monday 29 June

Agriculture and Fisheries Council
Ministers will exchange theirs views on the recent Commission communication “Towards more sustainable fishing in the EU: state of play and orientations for 2021”. The Croatian Presidency will inform ministers of the current legislative acts related to fisheries and agriculture.

Tuesday 30 June

Fourth Brussels Conference on “Supporting the future of Syria and the region”
Virtually co-chaired by the European Union and the United Nations, the conference will assess the state of play of the Syrian conflict and discuss the joint efforts for a political solution.

Timmermans and Gabriel join EU-Africa expert meeting
Executive Vice-President Timmermans and Commissioner Gabriel participate in a meeting of the “High-Level Group meeting of Personalities on EU-Africa relations”, convened by Friends of Europe, the Mo Ibrahim Foundation and the ONE Campaign, on Accelerating Africa’s Green Transformation.

Von der Leyen and Angela Merkel hold press conference
Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will hold a joint press conference with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, to announce the beginning of the German Presidency of the Council of the EU, via videoconference.

The College of Commissioners meets the Government of Germany as well as members of the Bundestag for the beginning of the German Presidency of the Council of the EU, via videoconference.
