The Young European Federalists (JEF) elect a new leading team and welcome new member sections
The Congress of the Young European Federalists (JEF) took place in Paris (France) on 1-3 November 2013.
During three intensive working days, over 160 young delegates from JEF sections coming from all over Europe gathered in Paris to elect a new Executive Board and Federal committee as well as an arbitration board and an auditors committee for the 2013-2015 mandate.
During the Congress, the Young European Federalists welcomed seven new member sections: three as full members (JEF-Netherlands, JEF-Turkey, JEF-Armenia) and four as candidate sections (JEF-Iceland, JEF-Montenegro, JEF-Azerbaijan, JEF-Belarus).
"In a context of growing euro-scepticism and nationalism, there is now more than ever a strong need of young Europeans acting for a federal Europe. We are more than happy to see that the federalist family is growing, stresses Pauline Gessant, re-elected President of JEF-Europe. The new members strengthen the role of the Young European Federalists in spreading the European idea all over the continent and in contributing to bringing the European citizens closer to the EU. JEF-Europe is now very proud to count 31 full member sections and 4 candidate sections gathering about 30.000 activists in over 35 countries.
Seven months before the European Elections, the JEF delegates also adopted a renewed political platform stating JEF demands for the future of Europe and approved a new logo in order to remain a generation ahead.

Kind regards,
