ELEC UPDATE   – October 24th, 2013
Dear ELEC friend,
We are very happy to announce that Yves Leterme has accepted to be the keynote speaker at our dinner in Brussels on Thursday December 5th 2013. Mr. Leterme is deputy secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Before he took up his position at the Château de la Muette in Paris two years ago, Mr. Leterme was active in the upper echelons of Belgian politics, leading two governments as prime minister. As such, Mr. Leterme has been closely involved in the European efforts to solve the banking crisis. In his keynote address he will of course touch upon the economic challenges facing Europe.
The dinner is part of the ELEC year-end gatherings in Brussels. It bridges the meeting of our Economic and Social Commission<http://www.eleclece.eu/en/economic-social-commission/economic-and-social-05-12-2013> on Thursday December 5th that convenes on the contribution of banks to the economic upturn, and the meeting of ELEC’s Central Council<http://www.eleclece.eu/en/central-council/central-council-brussels-06-12-2013> on Friday December 6th.  More details and invitations soon.
