EMI Board approves new Membership application
At its meeting in Brussels on 2 February 2012 the Board of the European Movement International (EMI) approved the application for full membership of the European Organisation of Military Associations (EUROMIL).
EUROMIL promotes social and professional interests of military personnel in Europe and is the primary Europe-wide forum for co-operation of 42 national military associations and trade unions.
Originally founded in 1972, EUROMIL strives to secure and foster human rights, fundamental freedoms and socio-professional needs of military personnel by monitoring and advocating for their interests on the European level.

The Board decided as well that the EMI will together with the Young European Federalists (JEF) and the Union of European Federalists (UEF) call on the European Parliament (EP) to initiate the formation of a fiscal and federal union. A petition signed by the Presidents of the three organisations will be formally submitted to the EP next week, accompanied by a Press Release and more information to be found on the EMI website.
Finally, we would also like to notify our Members that upon decision of the EMI Board the date and the venue for the EMI Members Council meeting have changed. The meeting will now take place in Cyprus and the new date is the 30 November 2012.
The EMI Federal Assembly will, as originally foreseen, take place in Brussels on 25-26 May 2012.
