Special Committee on Beating Cancer (BECA)
The Committee on Beating Cancer will hold a hearing dedicated to cancer patients’ experiences and their recommendations for the Committee’s forthcoming report. The hearing is expected to go over problems that may be faced by cancer patients, including physical trauma, mental health issues, difficulties to return to school, work or leisure, and a lack of adequate medical, psychological, social and financial support, of recognition of their disease and of legal status of caregivers. 

Special Committee on Foreign Interference in all Democratic Processes in the European Union, including Disinformation (INGE)
During this meeting, there will be an exchange of views with Mrs Sandra Gallina, Director-General of DG SANTE, on the issue of vaccines in the EU.

NAT Section meeting 
The Section for Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment will, among other things, debate its work programme for 2021-23 and its Environment Action Programme to 2030.

Wednesday 13 January

CCMI Section meeting
The Consultative Commission of Industrial Change section will, among other things, hold an election on the CCMI co-president and bureau and present, discuss, and adopt the CCMI’s work programme for 2021.

Thursday 14 January

REX Section meeting
During the meeting of the Section for External Relations (REX), the situation in Lebanon and the impact of COVID-19 in the Mediterranean region will be discussed.

Friday 15 January

Teleworking and gender equality event
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is organising a virtual public hearing on the topic of teleworking and gender equality. A selection of stakeholders from all levels (institutions, agencies, social partners, and civil society organisations) will be invited to share their concrete reflexions and recommendations on this vast subject.
