European Movement Norway has recorded an 8.5% growth in its membership in 2020, with the number of members ending at 3008. This is the fourth year in a row that the Movement has experienced membership growth.

In addition to passing 3000 members for the first time in many years, they now have an ever broader and younger membership, says Secretary General Fredrik Mellem.

As an organisation in the voluntary sector, the Movement has been affected by the coronavirus crisis, much like the rest of organisational and cultural life. Taking this into account and reviewing 2020 as a whole, the year was not, in fact, all doom and gloom. January and February were normal months that were utilised well by the organization. The summer and early autumn also opened up for almost normal activity, and during this period EM Norway gained a new European team when the European Movement Buskerud was established.
