EMI Board Member Meglena Kuneva to head the EPC Governing Board

After the election of Pat Cox, President of the European Movement International (EMI), as President of the European Parliament Former Members’ Association in June, we are delighted to announce that another EMI Board Member has been chosen to lead an important European organisation.

Meglena Kuneva, former European Commissioner for Consumer Protection has been appointed as Chair of the European Policy Center (EPC) Governing Board. The EPC is the leading Brussels’ think tank with more than 400 members, providing outstanding policy analysis, briefings, seminars and conferences. Ms Kuneva takes over this key role in EPC Governance from former Commissioner Antonio Vitorino, who stressed that “Meglena has vision, tenacity and a strong desire to help the EPC fulfil its mission of making European integration work”.

Peter Sutherland, Chair of the EPC’s General Assembly, added: “Meglena knows how Brussels works. She has been a very distinguished player in the European process as a Commissioner, Bulgaria’s Minister for European Affairs, and negotiator of its terms of accession. I am delighted that she has agreed to put this experience at the service of the EPC.”

The European Movement International (EMI) congratulates Ms Kuneva on her successful election and is looking forward to further deepen the cooperation between the EMI and the EPC as strategic partners.
