Plenary Session

Votes will be held on EU Association Agreement with Ukraine; the new Circular Economy Action Plan; the EU Recovery prospectus to help the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic; the European Central Bank annual report 2020; Reducing inequalities with a special focus on in-work poverty; Implementation of the Anti-trafficking Directive; the Implementation of Article 43 of the Asylum Procedures Directive; the impact of Covid-19 on youth and on sport; the humanitarian and political situation in Yemen and in Myanmar; the challenges ahead for women’s rights; and the Safety of nuclear power plant in Ostrovets (Belarus); 

Debates will be held on European Central Bank annual report; the new Circular Economy Action Plan;  the de facto abortion ban in Poland; the visit of the HR to Russia in the light of the recent crackdown on protestors and the opposition; the EU Association Agreement with Ukraine; the state of play of the EU’s COVID-19 Vaccination Strategy; Democratic scrutiny of social media and the protection of fundamental rights; MiFID and EU Recovery Prospectus Markets in financial instruments and EU Recovery prospectus and targeted adjustments for financial intermediaries to help the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic; the implementation of the Anti-Trafficking directive; European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience; Reducing inequalities with a special focus on in-work poverty; the impact of Covid-19 on youth and on sport; Establishing the Recovery and Resilience Facility; Humanitarian and political situation in Yemen and Myanmar; Capital Markets Recovery Package: the challenges ahead for women’s rights; and the safety of the nuclear power plant in Ostrovets.

EU-Ukraine Association Meeting
The Council will be holding a meeting discussing the status of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, encouraging moves towards further political association and economic integration will be fully implemented despite challenges presented by COVID-19.

Thursday 11 February

Timmermans meets Prime Minister of Romania.

High Representative Borrell co-chairs the EU-Ukraine Association Council.

Friday 12 February

President Von der Leyen Prime Minister of Romania, and President of the European Economic and Social Committee. 

Timmermans delivers a keynote speech via videoconference call at the World Sustainable Development Summit. 

Vestager holds a videoconference call with Hans Klug, WHO Regional Director for Europe. 

Reynders holds a videoconference discussion on the Rule of Law with representatives of the Greek Parliament and representatives of the Slovenian Parliament.

Union of Equality: LGBTIQ Equality Strategy 2020-2025
