The work-programme 2010 may gain a good momentum: new Commission, (relatively) new European Parliament and the Lisbon-Treaty only a few months in force. And it seems that the Commission wants to take this opportunity: there will be 34 strategic initiatives, 46 simplifications and even 59 former initiatives will be withdrawn in the upcoming months.

The Network European Movement Germany and the Representation of the European Commission in Germany organised an EU-Briefing on April 16, 2010 in Berlin to present the main strategic initiatives and the focus areas of the work-programme 2010. More than 150 representative of German stakeholders joined the EU-Briefing and it became obvious during the open discussion that stakeholders will keep an keen eye on the upcoming initiatives. Especially the list of green-papers which the Commission wants to publish raised attention and the Network EM Germany and the European Commission in Germany already agreed on a series of EU-Analysis on selected green-papers in 2010.
