Euronews broadcasts report on Armenia-EU relations

Armenia on the way to Europe? is the title of a report that was recently published and broadcasted by the TV Channel Euronews.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union Armenia became independent in 1991 and joined the United Nations a year later. The European Movement in Armenia is successfully seeking closer links with the rest of Europe. “Nevertheless the closed border of Armenia with Turkey makes it rather difficulty to trade and travel. If the border is closed it is a border between Europe and Armenia.”, says Viktor Yengibaryan, President of the European Movement Armenia.

The European Movement in Armenia and the recently set up Brussels based NGO "European Friends of Armenia" work closely together to strengthen and to intensify Armenian ties to the European Union.
