EM Germany: Kick-off European Election Campaign
The beginning of March 2009 marked the kick-off of the Network European Movement Germany’s campaign for this year‘s European elections. Member organisations and associated members were asked to participate in the joint campaign promoting the importance of casting one’s vote for Europe. In the next three months, the member organisations will place „Testimonial Adverts“ in their means of media (publications, website), showing their leading representatives arguing for participation in the elections on June 7, 2009. The campaign’s main idea is: Joint design – individual address by the member organisations – no extra costs.
The design of the adverts is uniform, but several versions are available. The advert’s head points to the event: „June 7th: European Elections“. The logos of the member organisation and the Network as well as the text „A joint campaign of the member organisations of the Network European Movement Germany“ always appear in the advert’s footer. The mid section contains a photo and the organisation’s individual message proclaiming why the European Parliament is of significance for them and why its readers (members, employees, etc.) should go out to vote.
The feedback is very positive – already more than 15 organisations have confirmed their participation; a number of adverts are currently finalised for printing. Early predictions suggest that more than 30 organisations will participate and several million citizens will be called to vote with this initiative.
The Network European Movement will introduce its campaign to the public in April and all adverts will be published in a special section of its website.
