The European Movement in Serbia with the support of the Olof Palme Center and the Swedish Interantional Development Agency is running the project Supporting European Integration through Promotion of Alternative Economy and Social Cohesion in Serbia. The general objective of the project is to increase knowledge and understanding of social economy and the context within which they operate in Serbia. The project focuses on research, promotion and understanding of innovative capabilities of social economy actors in Serbia.
The idea of social enterpreneurship is pretty unknown in Serbia although in many European countries it was a useful means of fighting unemployment esspecially of marginalized groups. In order to promote good practices as well as potential developing directions, research was conducted within the project. Results were published in a study Social Enterprises and The Role of Alternative Economy in the European Integration Process.
