Following the success of the second ‘Energy at Stake!’ debate on energy market liberalisation, the European Movement International (EMI) is concluding the debate series with the hottest topic of all: nuclear power.

At an innovative event scheduled for the 2nd July 2008, the EMI will call upon leaders in the energy and environment fields to take responsibility for their positions on nuclear energy. Can nuclear power be considered the clean resource of the future that will allow the EU to meet emission reduction targets by 2020? Or is the risk involved too great?
Mr Pat Cox, president of the European Movement, will moderate and panellists including Bruno Comby and Monica Frassoni will speak on behalf of civil society, industry and the European institutions in what is sure to be a contentious debate.
