Europa Nostra: Cultural heritage in action: New interactive publication launched
Europa Nostra, together with the Consortium partners of the EU-funded project Cultural Heritage in Action, is proud to launch a new interactive publication entitled “Cultural Heritage in cities and regions: challenges and trends throughout Europe”. The online interactive publication gathers content from the first phase of the Cultural Heritage in Action project, the 32 case studies from our catalogue of good practices – many of which are winners of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards – and the 10 online peer learning visits hosted in 2021, which also included Award winners.
The publication is organised around the main challenges faced by European cities and regions, namely inequality and social exclusion, rapid urbanisation, changes in governance systems, or climate change. The Cultural Heritage in Action project proves that cultural heritage is key to solving these challenges as it encourages experimentation, stimulates participation and responsibility, and rewards collaboration among different sectors.
The publication demonstrates that European cities and regions are already making the most of cultural heritage to address these challenges and have found innovative, inspiring and impactful solutions that work on the ground.
