EMI Federal Assembly to elect new President in Warsaw, 25-26 November 2011
The European Movement International (EMI) will be meeting this week in Warsaw for its annual Federal Assembly on 25-26 November 2011.
Delegates from more than 70 EMI Member Organisations will gather to elect a new President, six Vice-Presidents and a new Board. The election results will be published on the EMI Website next Saturday afternoon.
Lewandowski to address EMI Federal Assembly on EU Budget
European Commissioner Janusz Lewandowski will address the EMI Federal Assembly on Friday 25 November 2011 on the theme of: “New budgetary resources – greater financial autonomy for the European Union? A Multiannual Financial Framework perspective”.
The EMI believes that restructuring the EU Budget is essential and that making progress on the introduction of more own resources is indispensable. The discussion of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020 provides an opportunity to asses and re-prioritise EU spending programs.
The debate with European Commissioner Lewandowski will be chaired by EMI President Pat Cox, whose second term in office as EMI President will be coming to an end at the Federal Assembly in Warsaw.
In a statement Eurocrisis_-_New_economic_instruments_needed published before the last Euro Summit Meeting, the EMI called on European leaders to deliver new economic policy instruments and to provide new budgetary resources to the EU.
