Overcoming labour and supply chain shortages in Europe
In 2022, the EMI and METRO AG worked together on a series of roundtables addressing the topic of labour shortage in Europe, and the consequences these may have on specific economic sectors and on the functioning of supply chains in Europe and around the globe.
Bringing together social partners, civil society, policy experts from think-tanks and academia, and the EU institutions, these roundtables were the opportunity for participants to meet and exchange on the link between supply chain disruptions and how these are affecting or even caused by the acute labour shortage in Europe. The outcome of the roundtables was synthesised in a Discussion Paper, with key highlights and recommendations that will be shared with policy makers during this final event.
