Migration of skilled workers: the revision of the EU Blue Card Directive

The next event in this series will take place on Monday, 24 April 2017 in Berlin.

On 7 March 2017 the European Movement International organised a parliamentary debate on the revision of the EU Blue Card Directive.

The debate was moderated by Petros Fassoulas, Secretary General, European Movement International, and featured MEPs from three different parties including Brando Benifei (S&D), Nathalie Griesbeck (ALDE), and Jean Lambert (Greens/EFA). Unfortunately, and due to unforeseen circumstances, Ms Mariya Gabriel MEP could not attend.

As part of a broader series of events to discuss the ‘European Responses to Migration’, this event aimed to continue the debate on common European solutions to address migration, to critically assess current European responses and to provide input for further action.

From here the European Movement International will take the discussions to the Member State level. The next event in this series will take place on 24 April 2017 in Berlin.
