It is now possible to sign the petition to support the initiative of European citizens promoted for “Respect for the rule of law within the European Union” .

Rule of law is one of the fundamental values ​​of the European Union and its respect is essential in order to guarantee all citizens residing in the EU the possibility of relying on democratic institutions, fair trials and guaranteeing their fundamental rights.

This European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI), in collaboration with EM Italy, have created an objective evaluation mechanism aimed at verifying the application of European Union values ​​by all Member States.

Everyone is invited to action and to sign this initiative by 8 April 2020.

At least one million valid signatures are needed and therefore we ask you to help spread the knowledge of this initiative and to promote it among your contacts and in your territories! For any clarification, you can contact the secretariat of the European Movement – Italy.

ECI is an instrument of participatory democracy officially recognized by the EU Treaties to allow all resident citizens to intervene on European legislation. It is regulated by specific national laws for the validation of supporting signatures. The sites that collect the data necessary to express support for specific initiatives respect the highest standards of data security and confidentiality.
