At its Federal Assembly 2014, the European Movement International adopted a resolution on the European enlargement process and the reinvigoration of the Eastern Partnership.

On Wednesday 25 March, the European Commission released the 2015 progress reports of the European Neighbourhood Policy, including the Eastern Partnership countries.

As a follow-up to the EMI resolution and the recent developments in the Eastern Partnership countries, a background briefing on the Eastern Partnership has been prepared. The briefing discusses the developments in 2014 and important events in 2015: the review of the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Riga Eastern Partnership Summit on 21-22 May.
