EPP Political Assembly discusses Belarus, Albania and Nagorno-Karabakh; adopts papers on Europe’s Recovery and China
On 28 September, the members of the European People’s Party (EPP) Political Assembly (PA) met via video-conference to discuss the ongoing political situation in Belarus and Albania, the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, to adopt policy papers on China and the EU Recovery Fund respectfully and receive an update on Brexit negotiations from EU Chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier.
Among other topics, The PA stressed the EPP’s support for the Belarusian people in their fight for freedom and democracy, for Albania’s roadmap towards EU integration, including free and fair elections as a fundamental prerequisite, and for a return to the negotiation process mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs as this relates to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
