European Movement France: Priorities of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU
Recently, the European Movement France invited Walter Grahammer, the Ambassador of Austria to France, to present the priorities of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union as part of a series of breakfast debates.
Led by André Gattolin, Senator and Member of the Board of the European Movement France, this breakfast debate was an opportunity to discuss the priorities of the Austrian Presidency around its central theme: promoting a “Europe that protects”. Walter Grahammer emphasised the importance of the dialogue and stressed that the role of each Presidency is to “allow compromise”.
According to the Ambassador, the Austrian Presidency will place much emphasis on strengthening the EU’s Asylum Policy. The Presidency will also focus on common foreign policy, and commitment to the ecological transition.
