JEF INFO – 9 September 2014

Ioan Bucuras as Secretary-General of the Young European Federalists

Dear members,

I feel more than delighted and privileged to be part of this lovely European family and am ready to take over the mandate of Secretary General of JEF Europe.

Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Ioan, I come from Romania and have worked with European Youth NGOs for more than 3 years and graduated in Political Science at the University of Vienna. I got acquainted to JEF during my time at the helm of a partner organisation. The solid cooperation with JEF and the successful projects we implemented together attracted me to this NGO, its values and ideals. Finally, I attended the Federal Committee in Cambridge last spring, where I have been ratified in my new position.

As you know my predecessor did a magnificent job, bringing added value to JEF, managing with great tact and ability several European grants and projects simultaneously. I would like to thank him for his detailed guidance and patience throughout the hand-over period we have had in August in the European Secretariat in Brussels. He has been truly an inspiration and role-model for the Secretariat and I wish Federico all the best for his future endeavors and a quiet well deserved rest after almost two years of hard work!

For the upcoming two years I will deliver the best I can, continuing the management of the European Secretariat in the same professional manner, the good implementation of the annual work plan and organisation of events and their development. I consider myself very lucky to have such a dedicated and motivated Board and quality people in our Secretariat to assist me kick-start in my new position properly!

Finally, thank you for your trust and I am very much looking forward to making the best out of these two years and working with all of you!

Federalist regards,

Ioan Bucuras
