On 30 September, SGI Europe submitted its response to the European Commission’s draft on the Strategic Foresight Report’s Resilience Dashboards. The Dashboards aims to provide a holistic assessment of resilience in EU Member States and identify their strength and weaknesses to make better EU policies, looking at the social and economic, green, digital, and geopolitical dimensions.

During the last Sustainability Board meeting on 23 September, SGI Europe exchanged on the context, goals and content of the Resilience Dashboards with Dimitri Lorenzani, member of cabinet of the European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, whilst informing members on the content of the new Strategic Foresight Report 2021 published on 8 September 2021.

Mr Lorenzani explained that the widened scope of the Strategic Foresight Report (SFR) and the Resilience Dashboards can influence the shaping of EU policies, such as the EU Green Deal and the Next Generation EU, when well-established. He also highlighted that the Dashboards are a visual complementary tool in the making and an important first step towards going beyond the GDP and identify better ways to measure wellbeing in society and the economy.
