Thursday 9 January
Informal Meeting of Political Directors
The meeting is chaired by the Deputy Secretary General of the EEAS and attended by the Political Directors and European Correspondents of EU Member States. It will be an opportunity to discuss important international developments and identify topics to be discussed in the Foreign Affairs Council over the six months of the Presidency. During the two-day meeting, US Under Secretary for Political Affairs David Hale and Assistant Minister for Europe Affairs of Kuwait Walid Ali Al-Khobaizi will be attending the discussions.
Visit of the College of Commissioners to the EU2020HR
President Ursula von der Leyen and the College of Commissioners will visit Croatia on 9-10 January 2020. The College will attend gala concert in the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb that will symbolically mark the beginning of Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Friday 10 January
Visit of the College of Commissioners to the EU2020HR
The College will meet with the Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and members of the Croatian Government. After the meeting, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister Plenković will hold a joined press conference.
