Monday 28 June
Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries
The delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries will meet in Brussels to discuss climate change in the Mediterranean and the situation of the PA-UfM member countries from the Mashreq.
Committee on Foreign Affairs
There will be an exchange of views with the Speakers of the Western Balkans Parliaments in association with the EP Standing delegations for the Western Balkans
Extraordinary joint meeting of Subcommittee on Security and Defence & Committee on Foreign Affairs
Jointly with the Committee on Foreign Affairs and in association with the Delegation for relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly there will be an exchange of views with Deputy Secretary General of NATO.
Joint meeting: Committee on Budgets, Committee on Budgetary Control & Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality
There will be presentation of the special report by reporting ECA member Eva Lindström, in the presence of Johannes Hahn Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources, ” Gender mainstreaming in the EU budget: time to turn words into action.”
Joint meeting: Committee on Employment and Social Affairs & Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs
There will be an exchange of views on the 2021 European Semester Spring Package with Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice-President for An Economy that Works for People, Paolo Gentiloni, Commissioner for Economy and Nicolas Schmit, Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights.
Committee on Employment and Social Affairs
There will be an exchange of views and consideration and adoption of working procedure for guidelines for the employment policies of the Member States.
Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety
There will be a report on the ongoing interinstitutional negotiations, the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on health technology assessment and amending the regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 September 2006 on the application of the provisions of the Aarhus Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters to Community institutions and bodies. There will be a debate on the general budget of the European Union for the financial year 2022. There will be an exchange of views with the Commission on carbon farming and a presentation of the study “Operationalising an EU carbon farming initiative”, there will also be an exchange with Commission Vice-President Schinas on the communication on “Drawing the early lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic”, and with the Commission and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development on the mental health of children and adolescents post-COVID, in the presence of the European Parliament Coordinator on Children’s Rights. There will be a presentation by the Commission of the delegated regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council by establishing the criteria for the designation of antimicrobials to be reserved for the treatment of certain infections in humans. There will also be votes on amending the regulation establishing a European Centre for disease prevention and control, and a European strategy for critical raw materials.
Committee on Fisheries
There will be a vote on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.
Committee on Legal Affairs
There will be a debate on Responsible private funding of litigation. There will also be a hearing on Child protection under EU law.
Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs
There will be a vote on the consideration of amendments on Artificial intelligence in criminal law and its use by the police and judicial authorities in criminal matters. There will be an exchange of views on “Inhumane prison conditions (in the EU – before and during the pandemic, and on the situation of arrivals at the EU’s closest borders with Africa, and in particular in Ceuta.

Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety
There will votes on amending the regulation establishing a European Centre for disease prevention and control, and a European strategy for critical raw materials.
Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs
There will be votes on Artificial intelligence in criminal law and its use by the police and judicial authorities in criminal matters, Establishing the Asylum and Migration Fund, Establishing, as part of the Integrated Border Management Fund, the instrument for financial support for border management and visa, and Establishing the Internal Security Fund.
Thursday 1 July
Delegation for relation with Israel
The delegation for relation with Israel will meet and discuss EU-Israel relations with Israeli Ambassador Aharon Leshno-Yaar.
Delegation for relations with the Korean Peninsula
The delegation for relations with the Korean Peninsula will have an exchange of views on the prospects for denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.
Special Committee on Beating Cancer
There will be a joint debate on a “Pharmaceutical Strategy for Europe – the “Proposal for a regulation on health technology assessment – the “Aspen case – antitrust investigation into the pricing of certain cancer medicines.” There will also be an exchange of views on serious cross-border threats to health.
Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs
There will be public hearings with the Chair of the European Systemic Risk Board, the Chair of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank, and the Chairperson of the Single Resolution Board.
Joint meeting: Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs & Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age
There will be a public hearing on “AI and financial services”, with representatives from the European Commission, the European Central Bank, the European Supervisory Authorities and from the private sector and from civil society will share their views on the potential and limits of AI use in financial services, and on how to mitigate potential negative side-effects
Committee on Employment and Social Affairs
There will be debates on Democracy at work: A European framework for employees’ participation rights and the revision of the European Works Council Directive, and Employment and social policies of the euro area 2021.
Joint meeting: Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs & Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality
There will be a consideration of the draft report on combating gender based violence: Cyber violence.
Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality
There will be a vote on the adoption of a motion for a resolution on “Me Too and harassment, the consequence for the EU institutions.”

Council of Ministers
Monday 28 – Tuesday 29 June
Agriculture and Fisheries Council
Agriculture ministers will discuss the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy. Ministers are also expected to adopt a Council decision asking the Commission to submit a study on biological control agents. The Commission will present information on setting a protection goal for honey bees, they will also provide ministers with information on the current situation of the agricultural market. Fisheries ministers will hear a presentation from the Commission on the state of play of the Common Fisheries Policy and on the consultation on the fishing opportunities for 2022. EU ministers will seek to establish a Council position on a regulation amending existing rules on fisheries control.

10th anniversary of the ILO convention on decent work for domestic workers
The COVID-19 crisis has highlighted both the essential contributions of those workers to our societies and the precarious working and living conditions a vast majority of them still face. The 10th Anniversary marks an important milestone to take stock of the progress made and the challenges ahead. The online event will outline practices and policies to enhance the situation of personal and household services workers.

College Meeting
This week the College will meet to discuss a Revision of Directive 2008/48/EC on credit agreements for consumers, a Revision of the General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC, a Long-term vision for rural areas, as well as a Communication in response to the European citizens’ initiative End the Cage Age.

The Diversity Europe Group of the EESC will organise a webinar on the topic “Age of inequality: Youth in times of COVID-19”. The webinar will discuss how COVID-19 has affected the mental health of young people in Europe and its impact on their employability.

Joint CoR/ OECD Roundtable on Cities and Regions for the SDGs
The European Committee of the Regions and the OECD are jointly organizing their fourth edition of the Cities and Regions for the Sustainable Development Goals roundtable. The event will take place online and will focus on the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for long-term COVID-19 recovery strategies in cities and regions.
Wednesday 30 June – Friday 2 July
Plenary Session
The 145th plenary session will take place remotely. The session will include debates on the Better Regulation, Foresight and the European Commission’s Work Programme for 2022, the Conference on the Future of Europe, Promoting the European values through culture and education, the European Democracy Action Plan and the EU Green Deal Smart Sustainable Mobility in regions, cities and villages.

Recovery Summit
This event will contribute to reflection on the post-COVID-19 European economic recovery. The Recovery Summit will also be launching discussions on the future of economic governance in the EU and the need to rethink the European budgetary surveillance framework.
Nature Within Cities and Cities within Nature
This online event will focus on exploring the multiple benefits of Nature Based Solutions for cities, highlighting opportunities and challenges to advance and scale up nature based solutions, from local action to global solutions, accelerating impact in 2021 and beyond.

Visit of the European Commission
The Government of the Republic of Slovenia will host the College of Commissioners, headed by President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the day it assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The key discussion topics at the plenary session and the bilateral meetings between Prime Minister Janez Janša and Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and between Slovenian ministers and individual commissioners will be the programme and priorities of the Slovenian Presidency.

Human rights communicators explore how to tackle disinformation
The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights will host an an online public event with a mix of presentations and interactive Q&As. Over two days, human rights communicators will gather for their annual network meeting to share know-how and expertise. This year, the focus will be on tackling disinformation.

Taking stock of recent developments related to the rule of law in Poland, the event aims to empower judicial associations by identifying concrete recommendations on how domestic and international judicial associations can help protect and promote the rule of law. This online event will facilitate an exchange of views among national and international stakeholders.
Intolerance and Discrimination during the COVID-19 Pandemic – Perspectives from Civil Society Organizations
This online event will bring together leading voices from civil society organizations to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 crisis that exacerbated the discrimination and exclusion already faced by individuals and communities. It will also shed light on additional challenges the pandemic has created for the work of those civil society organizations that monitor hate incidents and support victims, and provide space to discuss possible solutions and recommendations.

Gender responsive short-term visa policies: Practices and recommendations for the OSCE region
This digital event will present ODIHR’s policy brief ‘Gender responsive short-term visa policies’ to attendees from OSCE participating states as well as regional and international organizations. The aim is to inspire discussion and raise awareness of the need for relevant policymakers to take a gender perspective when developing and revising visa policies.
