The Federal Assembly appointed Mr Diogo Pinto (dipicted right in the picture) as new Secretary General of the European Movement International for a three-year term of office commencing on 1st of July 2009. Mr Pinto is 34 years old. Previously he was Secretary General of the European Youth Forum. He is replacing Henrik H. Kroner who led the organisation since 2001.

Mr Charles Kleinermann was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the EMI. He has been working within the EMI secretariat since 2004.
