Schengen system must apply for Romania and Bulgaria
The European Movement International (EMI) calls for the Schengen system to be swiftly implemented in all EU Member States, including Romania and Bulgaria.
At its Members’ Council in Nicosia, the EMI unanimously adopted a resolution stating that citizens from candidate and accession countries, such as Serbia, Iceland, and Croatia also wait for the right to move freely within the European Union for study or work.
Schengen is the symbol for a Europe of citizens, but blocked by the Europe of governments. The EMI network urges the Member States to deliver on the promise for free movement.
