Citizens shape Europe’s future

Over 250 proposals have now been made for the future development of the European Union, and the public consultation for the Congress of Europe is still ongoing. The debate has been lively, as over 500 comments have been posted in response to the proposals, refining and developing them.

In just one month’s time, European leaders will pick up the discussion at the Hague when the Congress of Europe opens its doors to civil actors and the public on the 23rd and 24th of May 2008. Click here to see the hotly contested issues of the moment.

Civil society participants are encouraged to participate in the Congress and a dedicated site has now been opened with all the information for stakeholders. Visit www.thehague2008.eu to register, and explore the full Congress of Europe programme.
