Policy forum on European Integration

The European Movement in Albania (EMA) in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) organized on 18 December 2009, at Hotel Rogner a policy forum on European Integration. 

Participants in the panel who commented on the latest developments of Albania in this process were: Mr. Thomas Von Handel, Head of Political, Economic and Information Section, EC Delegation to Albania, Mrs. Ilda Zhulali, Director of the EU Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Andi Dobrushi, Executive Director of Open Society Foundation for Albania – Soros (OSFA).

During the activity, Dr. Mirela Bogdani presented on behalf of the group of the authors, the policy paper entitled “A tour on the EC Progress Reports for Albania”. This policy paper offers a comparative analysis on the findings of the European Commission progress reports on Albania in the course of the years 2007, 2008, 2009, focused on the core issues, which lies in the heart of the assessment of the European Commission. The findings of the policy paper are divided into two parts: the narrative part, which provides a snap shot of the core issues, and the annex that offers a detailed and easy to compare table of the progress, shortcomings and recommendations, noticed by the European Commission in the course of the years for these issues.
