EM Germany launches “exclusive” talks with van Rompuy’s Head of Cabinet
European Movement Germany launches a new type of event in October: “EMG Exclusive – Off-the-record Conversations for member organisations only”. EMG’s first interlocutor at “EMG Exklusive” will be, at October 7th, Franciskus baron van Daele, chief strategic advisor and Head of Cabinet of H. van Rompuy, President of the European Council. Van Daele will be available for a Q&A session on “A new institution, a new impulse? Van Rompuy’s first 9 months as President of the European Council”.
The Belgian van Daele has been a diplomat for 40 years and served e.g. as Permanent Ambassador of Belgium to the European Union and to the NATO. Since the nomination of van Rompuy as the first standing President of the European Council, van Daele leads his cabinet. Being van Rompuy’s chief strategic advisor, van Daele is a key expert on the strategies and limits of this new EU institution which Lisbon treaty created.
“EMG Exclusive” will bring together EMG’s member organizations around European topical issues – with or without an external guest. These off-the-record conversations will always take place at European Movement Germany. The event is open to representatives of EMG member organizations and of institutional partners only.
