EM Ireland – Green Book Launch

European Movement Ireland headed to Brussels last Tuesday 12 October for their second Brussels Connection event of 2010 and the launch of Volume 3 of the Green Book.
Building on the previous two editions; the Green Book Volume 3 provides even more practical advice and handy tips for Irish stagiaires in Brussels and contains a brand new chapter dedicated entirely to providing information about the various stage opportunities available in Brussels and the application processes involved, as well as a guiding Irish students how to maximize their chances of landing one.
Once again, Kitty O’Sheas pub provided the venue, the food and the drinks for over 100 Irish people from across the EU Institutions, Irish organisations and companies in Brussels; all of whom turned out to catch-up with old friends, make new acquaintances, chat, network, cheer on the boys in Green (who drew one all with Slovakia, in case you were wondering) and, of course, get their hands on Volume 3 of the Green Book.
We were delighted to have the Irish members of the EESC in attendance, along with Irish seat on the European Court of Auditors, Eoin O’Shea, staff of the Irish PermRep in Brussels and stagiaires from the Parliament, a host of Commission DG’s and a variety of other firms and businesses.
After a short speech by Executive Director, Andrea Pappin, the event got well and truly underway and was still going strong until the final whistle of the match and last calls at the bar.
For those of you unable to make it on the night, and those who want to their own soft copy, the Green Book Volume 3 is now available to download off our website here.  Pictures of the launch are also up on Facebook; if you’d like to have a look, click here.
European Movement Ireland was delighted to see so many faces, old and new, on the night and we look forward to catching up everyone again in the New Year.
