Tomorrow, the Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the Common Security and Defence Policy. The Council will, amongst other issues, discuss the implementation of the conclusions of the December 2013 European Council. It is the first Council to be chaired by the new High Representative Federica Mogherini.

Looking forward to the Council meeting, and as a follow-up to the EMI resolution “A fresh impetus to the Common Security and Defence Policy” adopted at the Members Council in The Hague, 29 November 2013, the EMI has prepared a briefing note.

The briefing note, to be found below, discusses the current state of affairs of the CSDP, the implementation of the December 2013 European Council Conclusions, and the priorities of the new High Representative. The agenda for the Council meeting tomorrow is included.
