Europe Day in Slovenia
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Schuman declaration, a young audience will be participating to the celebration of Europe day. The Slovenian national Council of the European Movement will be present in schools of Ljubljana and Nova Gorica to explain to young children (6-14) and teenagers the importance of the Schuman Declaration in the construction of Europe. The information campaign is jointly organized by the local school, local youth center, local youth council and local municipality so as to provide appropriate and tailor-made information according to the audience. Whilst younger children will be using toys and videos, teenagers will have a more serious yet relaxed conversation with a senior EU official on the benefits of Europe and what it means to be a young European citizen.
On the 9th May, high profile political and diplomatic figures as well as main NGOs representatives in Slovenia will be attending reception of wide media coverage and organized by EMS and its partners. A special attention will be given to the Schuman Declaration.
During this reception, the European of the Year award will go to the person deemed to have best contributed to the European integration.
EM Slovenia will also be present in the street, reaching and provide the local population with information regarding the Schuman Declaration and the activities of the European Movement.
