The European Movement Local Government Section (EMLGS) is holding an event to discuss the local economic impact of EU membership.
Since the UK became a member in 1972, British local authorities and local communities have benefitted hugely from EU funding of various kinds. As we approach the European Parliament elections in May and contemplate a referendum on EU membership, this event provides an opportunity to reflect on the value of EU membership to local economies and to focus on the arguments for Britain’s continued membership.
