Report: EMI Training Academy – June session

“The training has met all my expectations. It was useful thanks to all the wonderful speakers and visits. I very much appreciated the opportunity to visit the European Parliament as well as being able to discover all the beauty of Brussels. I would recommend this to everyone interested in EU affairs.”

Laura Koblicová, Czech Republic

“The training has brought me a deeper understanding of the practicalities of the EU. I feel I have gained an understanding of Brussels that I could not have gained elsewhere.”

Thomas Hancock, United Kingdom

The EMI held the second edition of its Training Academy last June and is proud to report that it was, once again, a great success! The 20 students representing 7 different countries (Czech Republic, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Serbia and the UK) came to Brussels with a great dose of energy and enthusiasm, eager to discover the EU institutions and to meet the 23 speakers planned on their agenda.

The students spent a week in Brussels, and had the opportunity to debate on various topics such as enlargement, the economic crisis or citizenship with key experts. They had meetings in the different institution buildings and got a real feel of working life in Brussels from different perspectives, among which professional lobbyists, youth and civil society activists and EU officials.

Our next session is taking place from 19-25 September.
