Roundtable ‘North-South Climate Community’
The European Movement International, together with Action for a Global Climate Community and with the support of the office of Mrs Satu Hassi (Member of the European Parliament) is organising a small roundtable on a North-South Climate Community on the 18th of April 2007.
As part of the activities of the EMI’s Working Group ‘EU in the World’, the roundtable will bring together various NGOs working in the area (Greenpeace, WWF, Climate Action Network (CAN) and more), Members of the European Parliament and members of the EMI network.
The roundtable will discuss the possibility of creating a North-South Climate Community lead by the EU and India, to serve as an example for the rest of the world. It will be closed by a working lunch with Pat Cox, the President of the European Movement, Juergen Lefevere from the European Commission and Gérard Onesta, the Vice-President of the European Parliament.
