Everyday, big companies are sending products made in developing countries like Pakistan to Europe. But what is the situation of the workers in these countries? Join us for an inspirational event and discussion with activists and filmmakers on how civil society organisations around the world can improve workers’ rights and working conditions and how cinema can be a tool to promote social justice for all.

Freedom of Association in Pakistan Pakistan is a country where labour laws exist but implementation does not. This short documentary looks at the issues facing different sectors of workers in Pakistan, like access to basic human rights, health and safety standards and education for their children.

Daughters of a Lesser God This short documentary about the life and struggle of home-based women bangle-makers of Pakistan reflects the exploitation which takes place at multiple levels during the process of bangle-making. It is an account of these women who make bangles for millions of other women but cannot afford to wear what they make.
