Travelling to Europe 2008 – EM Serbia
Two hundred best students travelled one month around European union countries thanks to the project “Travelling to Europe 2008”. Their first stop was Vienna where they were welcomed at the Diplomatic Academy by Ms. Ursula Plasnik, Austrian Foreign Minister, Mr. Jiri Grusa, Director of the Diplomatic Academy and Mr. Josef Halbmayer, Executive director of Austrian Railways. After visiting Vienna, seventy students who won a special prize, went to Berlin where they enjoyed sightseeing and a city rally – exploring Berlin in an interesting and funny way. The students visited the German Ministry for Foreign Affairs and were addressed by Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Minister for Foreign Affairs. After visiting these two cities, the best Serbian students were allowed to visit countries of their own choice. One month travelling finished and they came back full of beautiful impressions, many new experiences and friendships as well as broken prejudices. The thing they loved most was a feeling of freedom and the chance to wake up every morning in a different European city and start to explore it.
The project is carried out by the European Movement in Serbia in cooperation with the Belgrade City Hall and the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Belgrade.
