Nino Tvaltvadze, ALDA’s Eastern Partnership Coordinator, participated in the Feminist Festival held on 7 April in Kutaisi, Georgia.

Mrs Tvaltvadze accepted the challenge to be an actor for a night, as part of the documentary-play “Seven”. The lawyer and mother of three read the story of Hafsath Abiola, the daughter of the former uninaugurated President-elect of Nigeria, a woman who survived an extremely difficult life, and decided to turn into a human rights defender, thus committing her own life to a bigger cause. On stage, six other women from Imereti region did the same – thus making the audience live the extraordinary lives of those seven women.

“It was an incredible experience” said Mrs Tvaltvadze after her performance. “Putting myself in the shoes of a lawyer like me, who had her parents killed for thirst of power but strove to make sure the same did not happen to others, is one of the most complicated tasks I have ever worked on”.

The Feminist Festival was organized in Kutaisi by the Women’s Fund in Georgia.
