Europe is turning 60 this Saturday and while Heads of State and “March for Europe” participants will gather in Rome, the anniversary of the Rome Treaties will be celebrated in Berlin, too! Thousands are expected to attend the “March for Europe“, initiated by EM Germany’s member organisations Europa-Union Deutschland (German UEF section) and JEF Germany. After the demonstration has ended at iconic Brandenburg Gate, EM Germany and the European Commission Representation will be hosting a “Multipliers’ Cocktail” right next door at the Commission Representation. Interest group stakeholders and partners are invited to join for some networking and, most important, for getting to know the “Es ist Dein Europa” (It’s your Europe) campaign. Developed by the EU institutions in Germany, it is open for adaptation by all state and societal actors. EM Germany is collecting stakeholders’ reasons why the EU matters and what it should develop into from its members and partner organisations. The testimonial campaign aims at collecting ideas and arguments for the discussion on the future of the EU, triggered by the Commission’s White Paper, and shaping EM Germany’s consultation process on the new political agenda for 2017/18.
