EM Serbia: The WB6 advocacy group web portal is launched
The Western Balkan 6 (WB6) Advocacy Group which was established on September 29, 2016, launched today the portal wb6.info in order to better communicate with its target groups and interested public. Civil society organizations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia have initiated the forming of this group to facilitate and accelerate the accession of the entire region to the European Union.
One of the Group’s main priorities will be to change the region’s negative image. Its aim is to alert to the relevance of the Western Balkans to the EU and push the enlargement to the region back to the Union agenda through improved regional cooperation and concerted advocacy efforts vis-à-vis European decision makers.
One of the WB6 Advocacy Group’s first activities is to present the Guidelines for the Advocacy Strategy for the EU Integration of the Western Balkans and other relevant material on the WB6 AG Portal.
The establishment and organisation of the WB6 Advocacy Group was supported by the partner think tanks from the Visegrad Group (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia), which shared their national experiences in advocating EU integration. The Advocacy Group is a result of a one-year research project implemented by the European Movement in Serbia with other regional and V4 think tanks and supported by the Visegrad Fund and German Cooperation. The portal is supported by the Regional Cooperation Council.
The Brussels Launch of the Advocacy Strategy for the EU Integration of the Western Balkans will be launched on Tuesday 29 November.
