Eva Maydell President
Eva Maydell (Paunova) is a second-term Member of the European Parliament within the European People’s Party (EPP) Group. Her policy priorities include innovation and the use of technologies, supporting entrepreneurs and sustainable investments in Europe, and enhancing literacy and access to quality education. Maydell is a member of both the Industry and the Monetary Affairs committees as well as EPP Group Coordinator/Spokesperson in the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence. She is also a member of the Delegations for relations with Japan and the US. Eva Maydell is an alumna of John Cabot University, the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and the Oxford University Internet Institute. She has been awarded the European Parliament’s MEP of the Year Award twice. Maydell has been included in European Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, the Financial Times’ own ‘New Europe 100’ ranking of CEE’s emerging change-makers, POLITICO’s 40 most influential MEPs, “POLITICO 28” list of people who shape Europe and POLITICO’s 2018 Women who shape Brussels.
At the 2017 Federal Assembly, MEP Maydell was elected President of the European Movement International. She is the first woman and the first Eastern European to hold the position.
