EM-Germany Board Meeting held last Friday
Just two weeks ahead of the anniversary celebrations of the Treaty of Rome on March 25th, where EU Heads of State and Government will meet and renew the European project, the European Movement Germany Board gathered to discuss the future of Europe at a suitable location: Upon invitation from the Italian Embassy in Germany, the first meeting of the year took place in the historic building of the Tiergarten – an unusual and gorgeous setting. The rational but optimistic debate centered around the “60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome” as well as the “White Paper on the Future of Europe”. These topics also inspired the creation of a joint position of the Board.
In his welcoming address the Italian ambassador to Germany, Pietro Benassi, highlighted the importance of developing Europe in an “inclusive” way and of engaging the population in a political and sustainable agenda.
